30 Aug 2015 Hungarian Crown Final Round Recap
(Máriavölgy, Hungary) It was another beautiful day at Pannonia Golf and Country Club, for an exciting finish to the Hungarian Crown Junior. Final round hole locations were set, leading to a very challenging round of golf for both the girls and boys divisions, but at the conclusion of round 3, we saw both winners pull away from the field.
Christopher Fisher from Austria set the tone for the week with 9 birdies in his first 18 holes for a round 1 66 to take the early lead and he never looked back. Christopher followed up round one with a consistent 73,74 to finish at 3 under par and clinch the win by 7 strokes. Hein Sithu from Maynmar, shot two under 70 in round 2, to move up the leader board and held on to finish in second place at 4 over par. After following back out of contention in round 2, Benedikt Reil from Germany shot a final round 74 which was enough to move him into a solo third place finish at 5 over par.
In the girls division, Adel Vadkerti from Hungary came from behind for the win. After an opening 78 Adel, found herself 4 strokes back from early leader Sofia Seldemirova. Adel then finished strong with rounds of 74, 73 to finish at 6 over par and win by an impressive 6 strokes. Sofia Seldemirova of Bulgaria and Boroka Briglovics from Hungary tied for second place at 12 over par.
With their wins, Christopher Fisher and Adel Vadkerti will look to move up in the World Junior Golf Rankings (www.juniorgolfranking.org). The next event for the World Junior Golf Series will be the American Junior, held December 28-30, 2015 in St. Augustine, Florida at the World Golf Village.
